Description

Discover a brighter, more versatile matcha with Mori-Tsu(森露), our latte-grade blend designed for everyday creativity. Sourced from Kyoto’s Uji region and ground with care, this matcha delivers a smooth, balanced base with light grassy notes and a gentle sweetness.

Lower in bitterness and crafted to pair effortlessly with oat milk, soy, coconut water, or dairy, Mori-Tsu is your go-to for matcha lattes, smoothies, iced drinks, and beyond.

Inspired by the fresh clarity of 朝露 (Asatsuyu) – morning dew – this matcha brings calm energy and subtle flavor to both traditional and modern drinks.

Its vibrant green hue, fine texture, and friendly flavor profile make Mori-Tsu the perfect introduction to Japanese matcha culture — approachable, affordable, and adaptable.

Brewing Notes

  1. Warm your matcha bowl (chawan) and bamboo whisk (chasen) with hot water. Discard the water and dry the bowl completely.
  2. Sift 2–3 grams (about 1–1.5 teaspoons) of matcha into the bowl using a fine mesh sieve.
  3. Add 60–70 ml of hot water at 70°C
  4. Whisk briskly in a zigzag “M” or “W” motion until the surface is frothy with fine bubbles.
  5. Enjoy immediately, sipping directly from the bowl to savour the vibrant, umami-rich flavor.

For a modern twist, blend with your choice of milk, plant-based milk, or even coconut water—served hot or cold—for a refreshing variation.

CULTIVAR DETAILS

Asahi(朝日), first cultivated in Uji during the early 20th century, is one of the region’s most prized cultivars for producing exceptional Tencha and Matcha. Known for its broad, tender leaves and elegant aroma, Asahi requires meticulous care but rewards growers with outstanding quality.
When crafted into Matcha, Asahi is celebrated for its smooth, mellow profile with a gentle sweetness and a lingering umami depth. Its refined balance of flavor and texture makes it a favorite among tea masters, embodying both tradition and sophistication in every bowl.

REGIONAL DETAILS

Regional Heritage
Shirakawa, a quiet village in Uji, has long been regarded as one of Japan’s most esteemed tea origins. Revered by tea masters for its refined cultivars and meticulous hand-picking traditions, Shirakawa continues to embody the heart of Uji’s matcha culture.

Natural Terroir
The region’s fertile soils and gentle river mists create ideal conditions for tender tea growth. Sheltered from harsh sun and nourished by mineral-rich land, Shirakawa’s fields produce leaves with a light, clean character.
